Early on a Saturday morning in late November (Nov. 24th), the Baileyton United Methodist Church was destroyed by fire. It was early morning of a beautiful fall day when neighbors and passerbys noticed the fire. The Baileyton Fire Department and surrounding area fire departments answered the call, but it was too late to save the building and most of the interior was totally demolished practially in a matter of minutes.

Baileyton Elementary School so graciously volunteered the use of their auditorium for church services the following morning and Wade McAmis brought a service regarding hope and looking to the future and to remember that love makes a church and to be thankful that no one was hurt by the fire.

Baileyton United Methodist Church Receives $4,968 Grant
               from Trinity UMC Brooks’ Trust Fund for Youth Sunday School Classrooms

Baileyton United Methodist Church received $4,968 from the Buel and Mildred Brooks Trust Fund to replace furniture and contents in the church’s youth Sunday School classrooms destroyed by fire over the Thanksgiving holiday.  The $4,968 grant will defray losses not covered by insurance proceeds and will allow the church to refurnish the children’s Sunday School classrooms once the church is rebuilt. continue
